Submission for Godot Wild Jam 68: Forge

A vampire survivors-ish game where you have to forge and upgrade your weapon by hitting enemies with it!

  • Z: Attack
  • X: Ground slam attack
  • Space: Dash
  • Movement: WASD/Arrow keys

Hit fire elementals to build heat -> Forge the weapon by killing a stone golem -> Cool down the weapon by hitting ice elementals -> Upgrade!

Known issues:

  • Controller not supported on web version
  • Web window wider than intended on firefox
  • May lag a bit on web version if there's too many enemies

Nice! Played through a few times to get the loop down! I enjoyed how you had to target different enemy types. I basically forgot I had a looping shield though.

2939 kills and 19 upgrades

Very nice! I could see this being a very addictive little mini game! I love the game loop!!

Super fun. I love that the player is punished for hitting the wrong enemies. I think the additional heat punishment from being hit by the cold slimes is too much ON TOP of the interaction of hitting the cold slimes.

Awesome game! Plays great from start to finish. Would prefer to be able to attack by clicking with the mouse, but otherwise a wonderful game!

Pretty fun, but also super hard! I could only get 4-5 upgrades before getting overwhelmed... but perhaps my choices of upgrades were part of the problem. I'll have to try some other strategies and see if they work better!

Great pixel art as always.

Thanks for playing shibey :)

I just pushed out an update, it should make the upgrade process a little easier to accomplish (Though the game may be a bit harder in other ways)
